Research on social network and photo sites indicates that there are thousands of Home Theater consumers still living with terrible furniture set ups in their family rooms. Makeshift TV stands made from inferior materials, plastic milk crates, Mom's old dresser, and worst of all - that horrible 1980s trend of cold steel and glass TV stands. This does a serious disservice to Home Theater set ups, and prevents families from fully enjoying their purchases.

To combat this style epidemic, Altra Furniture wants to raise consumer awareness on this most pressing problem. Altra Furniture plans to give away a top of the line wide-screen TV stand to the neediest contestant with the Worst Home Theater Set Up Ever!

Contest Entrants desperate for a home theater revamp will have 6 weeks to submit their visual evidence starting on October 1st at 12 a.m. Entries will stop being accepted after November 12, 2010. Entrants must submit no more than 3 photos to depict how dreadful their home theater set up really is. Don't forget it can be messy, broken, in dire need of wire management or just plain ugly. Voting will begin on November 13, 2010, where the public votes for their favorite "worst home theater" until November 26, 2010, when the voting ends. A panel of judges will take the top 5 worst home theater stands voted for and will pick the number one worst home theater system ever as the winner. The winner will receive a beautiful top selling TV stand sold at a National retailer.
